Terms of Service
Effective date: 24 September 2026
1. Who we are
Green Card Guides is run by Green Card Guides LLC ("we", "us"). Our address is 500 W 30th St, Apt 14F, New York, NY 10001. You can contact us at info@greencardguides.com.
These Terms are an agreement between you and us about using the Green Card Guides website and app. If you do not agree, do not use Green Card Guides.
We are not part of the U.S. government. We are not connected with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or the U.S. Department of State. Official government websites end in .gov, and official forms are free there.
2. What Green Card Guides is, and what it is not
Green Card Guides is a self-help information service. It helps you work through official USCIS and State Department forms yourself. It can:
- let you pick a route (your location, your basis and your category) and show the forms that go with that route, and the order they are filed in;
- explain in plain language what each question on a form is asking;
- put your own typed answers onto the official PDF form, so you can print it, sign it by hand and mail it, just as you could with a PDF editor;
- run "pre-flight" checks for common mechanical problems that can get a form sent back, such as the wrong form edition, a missing signature or the wrong fee.
Green Card Guides is not a law firm. We are not lawyers, and we do not give legal advice.
- We do not choose your immigration category for you. You choose your route. If you are not sure which route is right for you, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice.
- We never fill in an answer for you. You type every answer yourself.
- We never sign for you. You sign your forms by hand.
- We do not file anything with USCIS, the State Department or any other agency. You mail your forms yourself.
- We do not represent you before any agency or court.
- Using Green Card Guides does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
3. Who can use Green Card Guides
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or pay.
4. Your account
Your account uses your email address only. You sign in with a one-time link we email to you. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can open your email may be able to sign in as you. Tell us at info@greencardguides.com if you think someone else has used your account.
5. You are responsible for your answers
Every answer on your forms is yours. You must:
- give true, complete and correct answers;
- check every answer against the official form and its official instructions before you sign;
- answer government forms in English. Green Card Guides can be read in English or Spanish, but its explanations are only a help. The official English form and instructions are what count;
- read every page of the printed form before you sign it;
- follow the form's instructions about who must sign, including anyone who helped you, such as an interpreter or preparer.
Our explanations are general information about what a question asks. They are not advice about how to answer it in your situation. Giving false information to the government can have serious consequences.
6. Forms, editions and fees change
Government forms, form editions, filing addresses, rules and fees change, sometimes without warning. We work to keep Green Card Guides current, but we cannot promise that it always is.
On the day you file, check the form edition, the fee, the filing address and the instructions yourself on uscis.gov or travel.state.gov. If anything in Green Card Guides differs from those official sites, follow the official sites.
7. Pre-flight checks and case tracking
Pre-flight checks look only for certain mechanical problems that can cause a form to be sent back. They do not check whether your answers are true or correct, they do not check whether you are eligible, they do not predict whether your case will be approved, and they may miss problems.
Case tracking is coming soon. When it is available, it will show the status USCIS returns for receipt numbers you enter. We do not control that status; check important updates with USCIS directly.
8. No promise of acceptance or approval
We do not promise that any agency will accept your forms, that your case will be approved, or that it will be decided within any time. Only the government decides your case.
9. Prices and what you get
Prices are per case. A case is one route for one person. There is no subscription.
Free: the route finder, the form order, the guides for your route, pre-flight checks, and, for one designated form per case, saving and downloading it.
Core, $149 per case: saving every form on the case and downloading every form on the case. Case tracking will be added to Core when it launches.
Prices may change. A change does not affect a case you have already paid for.
10. Paying
Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. We never see or store your full card number or bank account number. You can pay with a debit or credit card, a U.S. bank account (ACH) or Cash App Pay.
Bank payments can take several days to clear and can fail later. While a bank payment is processing, you can keep saving your work. If it fails or is returned, saving and paid downloads lock again until you pay another way.
Saving a payment method. You may save a payment method without being charged. That unlocks saving your case only, not paid downloads.
No automatic charges. We charge a saved payment method only when you click to pay while you are using Green Card Guides. We never make automatic or recurring charges.
11. Paying for someone else's case
Another person, such as the U.S. citizen petitioner in a family case, can pay for your case through a payment link you share. That person, the "sponsor", does not need an account, and the link does not show them your answers or anything else about your case. Anyone with the link can pay for your case, so share it only with people you trust. By paying, the sponsor agrees to these Terms for that payment. The sponsor is not responsible for your answers; you are. A refund goes back to the payment method that was used.
12. Government filing fees are separate
Our prices do not include government filing fees. You pay those directly to USCIS or the State Department. We never receive them and cannot refund them.
13. Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 3 business days of paying, for any reason, even if you have already downloaded forms. Email info@greencardguides.com from the address on your account, or the sponsor can email us from the address used to pay. If we refund a payment, the access it paid for ends. The law where you live may give you more rights, and these Terms do not take them away.
14. Acceptable use
You must not:
- enter information you know is false, or use Green Card Guides to deceive any government agency;
- enter another person's information without their permission;
- try to see, change or delete anyone else's data;
- share your sign-in links or let others use your account;
- use Green Card Guides to sell form-filling or immigration help to other people, or present yourself as a lawyer, "notario" or immigration expert while using it;
- misuse payment links or use a payment method you are not allowed to use;
- copy, scrape or resell Green Card Guides's content, or try to break, overload or get around its security;
- break any law.
15. Our content and yours
Official forms belong to the government. Your answers are yours. Green Card Guides's guides, explanations, checks and software belong to us. You may use them for your own immigration case.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use and protect it.
17. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Green Card Guides is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it is free of errors, complete, current or always available.
18. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows: we are not responsible for decisions, delays, rejections or fees of any government agency, for the consequences of answers you entered, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim about Green Card Guides is limited to what you paid us for the case the claim is about in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
19. Ending your use
You can stop using Green Card Guides at any time. To ask us to delete your account and saved data, email info@greencardguides.com.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or when the law requires it. Unless the law stops us, we will tell you by email. If we close your account when you have not broken these Terms, we will refund any paid access you have not used.
If we ever stop offering Green Card Guides, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before, so you can download your forms.
20. Changes to these Terms
If we make an important change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
21. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim where you live, these Terms do not take that right away.
22. Language
These Terms are written in English, and the English version controls. Any translation is provided to help you.
